Yay! Made progress from the last update, which was two months ago. I finally managed to clear most of the stuff on my desktop. Either blogged about them, or filed them to my del.icio.us account, or trashed them.
Still no significant progress after a month. Practically the same thing I wrote last month. It's not funny anymore. I think I'll have to just trash the posts that I'm probably never going to write anyway...
During the Mac meetup, I was telling Kevin and Siva how I need to be more disciplined in maintaining my computer desktop. Each time I come across an interesting website or blog post, if I think it's worth blogging, I'd drag the URL to the desktop for attention later. Of course the problem is that I don't have time to blog everything.
End-result: A cluttered desktop.
Yesterday and today, I managed to go into a blog-frenzy (by my standards) and blogged most of the posts, like this, this, this, and this. Then deleted some of the stuff on my desktop. It's still not as empty as I want it to be. Yeah, a desktop is for working on stuff rather than show off the photo, but I have a bad habit of letting stuff accumulate. That's why I need to be more disciplined.
This is how the desktop looks like now. More stuff to clear, but I'll get there. BTW, the photo for the desktop was a picture I took of what my wife made from a flower arrangement class.
And no, this post isn't something I had to clear from my desktop. More like an excuse to feature the desktop photos that I have from time to time. :)
It's a good thing I'm a scrooge when it comes to spending money, or
else I would've gotten this!
Argh... just six months after I crossed over to the Dark Side, Apple's Macbook Pro now comes in 2.16 GHz and 3GB RAM.
It's not just "Dual Core" but "Dual Core 2"!
Mine is 2GHz and upgradeable to max 2GB RAM. OK, so I wouldn't be able to tell the 0.16GHz difference in processing speed. And I'm not in any desperate need to upgrade my current 1GB RAM. Besides, if I'd waited I'd never have known how long.
Still, while my rationale side tries to placate my emotions, it's a Guy-Thing to want the meanest and baddest gadget around. Argh!
